WINTER 2009

Sister Mary Ignatius Explains It All for You & The Actor’s Nightmare
by Christopher Durang.

SISTER MARY IGNATIUS EXPLAINS IT ALL FOR YOU: Sister Mary Ignatius, a teaching nun who is much concerned with sin in all of its various forms, delivers a cautionary lecture to her charges. But when several of her former students turn up the picture darkens, along with Sister Mary's indignation. Their stories are disturbing—but also very funny—and it is quickly apparent that one thing they all have in common is their loathing for Sister Mary. In the end there is mayhem and bloodshed but, amid the laughter, some devastating truths have been told.

Conceived as a companion piece, THE ACTOR’S NIGHTMARE details the plight of a stranger who is suddenly pushed on stage to replace an ailing actor. Having casually wandered onstage, George is informed that one of the actors, Eddie, has been in an auto accident and he must replace him immediately. Apparently no one is sure of what play is being performed but George fumbles through one missed cue after another. Yet, in the closing moments of the play, he rises to the occasion and finally says the right lines, whereupon make-believe suddenly gives way to reality, denying him a well-earned curtain call.

SPRING 2009

Trail of Evidence, a murder mystery dinner theatre
By Rose Richards

Murder comes with the Territory! They came from back East by wagon and ship, then fate brought them together at a Mayor's Ball in the early 1850s: An enterprising banker, two spinster sisters, a farmer and his tomboy daughter, a schoolteacher, and others. But darker currents run through this frontier settlement, and when a mysterious man with more than one story is murdered, fingers of accusation point in every direction, even toward the legendary Dr. John McLoughlin. It takes the perseverance of Marshal Joe Meek to sort the guilty from the innocent and bring justice to the Oregon Territory.
