Aaron Filyaw (Chris Keller)
Aaron is thrilled to be participating with New Century Players for the first time! He has acted with many theaters throughout the Portland area. Some of his favorite productions include The Laramie Project with Serendipity Players, The Importance of Being Earnest with Magenta Theatre, and As You Like It with Theatre in the Grove. A Tennessee native, he's also acted and studied with The Tennessee Stage Company and Tennessee Valley Players. He has also studied at the Stella Adler Conservatory in NYC where he participated in stage readings including Out of Gas on Lover's Leap and The Shape of Things. He will next be seen as Leonard Vole in NCP's Witness for the Prosecution in May. He would like to thank the cast, the crew, and the director Colin Murray for this amazing and memorable experience! |
Brandee Leibrand (Ann Deever)
Brandee is delighted to be part of such a wonderfully talented cast! An Oregon native, Brandee graduated from The American Musical and Dramatic Academy NYC and holds a BFA in Musical Theatre from New School University. She returned to Oregon in 2009 and has been involved in many local productions since. Recent credits include Noises Off! (Vicki/Brooke, Nutz & Boltz), The Signal Season of Dummy Hoy (AC, Pentacle Theatre), Into the Woods (Little Red Riding Hood, Gallery Theatre), 'Tis Pity... (Philotis, Compass Repertory), and Oliver! (Bet, Nutz & Boltz). Thank you to her parents and her husband, Paul, who always has the patience to help her learn lines. Enjoy the show! |
Dallas Myers (George Deever)
Dallas is so honored to be playing George in All My Sons. This is his first outing with New Century and he couldn't have asked for a better show or more challenging part. During the day, Dallas teaches theatre arts at McNary High School in Keizer, where he resides with his cat Sabine. He loves the opportunity to continue to work on his craft during the school year because it gives something to bring back to his students in the classroom. For the last seven years, Dallas has worked with Bag & Baggage Productions in Hillsboro on mostly Shakespearean productions. His favorite roles include: Mercutio in Romeo and Juliet and Feste in Twelfth Night. Dallas would like to thank his family for their continued support, his students for their pushing him to be better, Kelley and Colin and New Century for the chance to play this part. |
Todd Carlson (Dr. Jim Bayliss)
Todd appreciates this opportunity to work with New Century Players again. In 2013, Todd played Mitch Mahoney (The Comfort Counselor) in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. In 2012, Todd was Mr. Pinky in Hairspray and band leader of "The Undertakers" in Blunt Force Drama. Todd has also worked in performing arts with JANE (A Theater Company) and a number of high schools and universities in Oregon. During the day he performs in the role "IT Manager" at a local software company. In his spare time he plays jazz bass (Upright) and is a ukulele evangelist. Todd is grateful for his three children, his lovely and supporting wife Ann, and many friends and family. He is especially thankful for parents who instilled an appreciation for music, the arts, sciences, and the natural wonders of the Pacific Northwest. |
Jo Strom Lane (Sue Bayliss)
Jo is excited to be back on stage after primarily directing nearly 50 shows for the last two decades in Arizona and Oregon. In her past, her favorite roles have been Vera Claythorne in And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie and The Mute in The Fantasticks. In Portland, when she taught, directed, and served as Artistic Director for Winterhaven School's 14th Ave. Players, she also played Sylvia Barrett in Up The Down Staircase in the teacher cast. While at Roosevelt HS's Opening Act Theatre Company, where she teaches and serves as Artistic Director, she jumped into the dancing ensemble in Hairspray, but hasn’t been seen on stage since. She would like to thank Jessica for the nudge to get back on stage, Colin for directing, Dallas for taking the NCP leap too, and Kelley and New Century Players for having her. Much love to her supporters, Troupe 7289, and Oregon Thespians who inspire her daily! |
Michael Jarmer (Frank Lubey)
Michael is a musician and a fiction writer, but makes his living (happily) by teaching English at Rex Putnam High School. This is his third New Century Players production. He was Bottom the Weaver in A Midsummer Nights Dream and mean Uncle Wes in Footloose, where, for his students at least, he immortalized the line, “Are you on drugs?” He loves Shakespeare—so much so that his band, Here Comes Everybody, has written an entire album of rock songs around lines from Shakespeare’s plays. Michael has also recently published his first novel, Monster Talk. He’s super stoked to be Frank in All My Sons. |
Lauren Scher (Lydia Lubey)
Lauren is very excited to be making her debut with New Century Players! Lauren was most recently seen as Louise in Play On with the Mask and Mirror Theater Group. A not so recent transplant from Long Island, Lauren’s favorite roles include Patricia in Crazy for You, Aphra in Children of Eden, Ursula in Bye Bye Birdie, and Gloria in Mame. When not on stage, you may find Lauren dragon boating on the Willamette, attempting to learn the cello or seeing a show. Thanks to Colin and the cast and crew of All My Sons! Special thanks to family and friends who have long supported her theater habit! |
London Miller (Bert)
London Miller is a seventh grade student at Alder Creek Middle School. He participated in 4 plays – the latest, starring as the Knight in “The Near Sighted Knight and the Far Sighted Dragon.” He has also been in Charlotte’s Web, James and the Giant Peach, and Hansel and Gretel. London enjoys drama, choir, soccer and church activities in his off time and looks forward to being in high school where he will be able to be a part of the drama program doing plays each year. |
